Jennifer

Jennifer’s work ranges from the whimsical to the provocative to the sublime - all reflecting her own curiosity, humour, and imagination as she continues to challenge the boundaries of her creativity.
“I have always made things, and especially made things of other things. Objects and materials that have been discarded or abandoned, I incorporate into something new, something integrated, a whole, and in so doing give them permanence.”
Paper mache is her preferred medium. Paper is the most disposable medium of our society. Jennifer captures this material and transforms it into an artifact, imbued with utility and beauty, and therefore, meaning.
“I find it fascinating to watch people approach my work, to see if it can overcome their assumptions”
Jennifer Studied photography and textiles at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and experimental art at the Ontario college of Art. She worked as a prop builder and scenic painter in Toronto before moving to the Lindsay area with her family. Jennifer works from her home and studio in a century old country church.

“My work is the transformation of a mundane material, the creation of something unexpected, a vessel, a bowl, something capable of keeping and holding.”
